DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the kickoff of the holiday season in Lakeview with the lighting of Lakeview's community Christmas tree! Enjoy live performances and a special visit from Santa! The festivities will take place outdoors at the Lincoln Hub intersection of Lincoln/Southport/Wellington.\n\n \n\nHead to S&G Restaurant before the tree lighting from 4:30-6PM for an ornament-making arts & crafts project hosted by KidCreate Art Studio! You can put your ornament on the Lakeview Christmas tree or bring it home!\n\n \n\nAdvocate Health will be hosting a Coat & Book Drive during the event\, so please bring any used coats or books to donate to those in need!\n\n \n\nThe Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 6PM.\n\n \n\nHighlights include:\n\n\n Carols performed by students from Alphonsus Academy and Center for the Arts \n Appearances by cast members from Gian Carlo Menotti's "Amahl and the Night Visitors" and Ballet Chicago's "The Nutcracker" performing this November and December at Athenaeum Theatre\n A countdown to the tree lighting featuring an appearance by Santa\, joined by other community leaders\n S&G Restaurant and Golden Apple Diner will also be serving FREE hot chocolate from 6-8pm!\n\n\n \n\n \n\nThis event is sponsored by Lakeview SSA 27.
