SUMMARY:The Community Renewal Chorus' 46th annual Winter concert
DESCRIPTION:The Community Renewal Chorus (CRC) will present its 46th annual Winter concert\, on Sunday\, January 3\, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.\, at St. Alphonsus Church\, 1429 W. Wellington Avenue\, Chicago\, IL\, under the direction of Brian Bloye\, Director & Jenne Lennon\, Assistant Director.  The concert theme\, "A Whisper on the Night Wind" will feature the combined voices of the Community Renewal Chorus with multiple strings in a diverse program of musical traditions and will be sure to be a warm ending to the holiday season. \n\n \n\nCome enjoy a diverse repertoire of selections as the Community Renewal Chorus performs a tapestry of classical works\, arrangements of carols\, spirituals\, gospel\, holiday classics\, and freedom songs from around the world.  Featured in this special performance will be "The Star:  A Christmas Scene" arranged by Jon Washburn and drawn from "Special Starlight" by Carl Sandburg & "Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis De Deo" by Franz Joseph Haydn\, performed together with multiple strings.  Also included will be gospel and spiritual favorites "Precious Lord" by Thomas Dorsey & "I'm Gonna Sing 'Til The Spirit Moves In My Heart" by Moses Hogan\, and South African freedom song "Freedom is Coming."\n\n\n\n About the Community Renewal Chorus\n\nFor over four decades\, the Community Renewal Chorus\, a not-for-profit organization made up of singers from throughout the Chicago metropolitan area\, has been bringing communities together to celebrate the music of different cultures while sharing a message of hope and harmony through diversity.
