Five Fingers of Self-Defense Workshop for the LGBTQ Community
This low-cost 90 minute workshop provides an overview of mental, verbal, and physical self-defense techniques designed to help participants defend themselves from threats and move through the world with less fear and more confidence. We use the Five Fingers of Self-Defense to teach people how to accurately assess their risk and respond to violence before it escalates, while also teaching physical techniques to defend against direct assault. Our goal is to reduce both the prevalence and the harm of violence. Great for those new to the city, or anyone who wants to feel safer, stronger, and more respected in their everyday lives, and to know they can respond to emergency situations if they arise. Open to LGBTQ adults and teens of all genders, ages 15+
