EcoDunia — Markets Manager (Chicago, IL)

Posted: 06/08/2026

Compensation: $24/hr + performance commission
Type: Seasonal (May– December)
Location: Chicago metro and surrounding markets

The Role

EcoDunia is looking for a market lead who can run our booths independently and sell with confidence. Most weekends you’ll be at one or two markets. Some weekends, three. You’ll direct a small team at the markets, manage inventory, handle POS, and close the day clean.

This is not a brand ambassador role. You’re actively working the booth, learning the product cold, and driving the sales numbers.

Besides sales, you are a competent problem solver who can execute.

What You’ll Actually Do

  • Run sales — engage customers, tell the product story, handle objections, and close the sale
  • Direct sales staff during the market
  • Manage POS transactions, end-of-day cash reconciliation, and inventory counts
  • Communicate daily results and any operational issues back to management
  • Help set up and break down our full market booth — tents, displays, signage, and display product

The Schedule

Markets run Friday through Sunday and there will be a few hours during the week of packing and scheduling. A typical weekend is one or two markets; peak weekends may three. Most markets are a full day — plan for 8–10+ hour days.

This role is weekends-heavy by definition. If that doesn’t fit your life right now, it’s not the right fit.

Compensation

$24/hr base.

Performance commission: 3% of all sales above the threshold. There is no cap.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in sales is a MUST. Genuine ability to sell — not just answer questions but actively engage, pitch, and close
  • Reliable and organized — you show up on time, you count inventory accurately, you close the register and clean.
  • Running a retail booth, pop-up, or market independently — you don’t need to be managed through it is a bonus.
  • Comfortable with physical setup — our booth involves tents, tables, display fixtures, and product cases
  • Chicago-based or close — most markets are in the city or nearby suburbs

Big plus:

  • Drivers license and ability to drive a small Uhaul or box truck

Mission alignment is a plus but not the lead requirement. The lead requirement is that you can run a market and hit sales goals.

Note: tells us where you worked in sales and what sales looked like. We can teach set-up but can’t really teach sales and management.
