JAZZ FOR WOMEN-AN EVENING OF MUSIC AND FELLOWSHIP TO BENEFIT THE CHICAGO FOUNDATION FOR WOMEN
Chicago jazz singer Elaine Dame will host a benefit jazz concert on Sunday, June 5th from 6 to 9 p.m. at Southport and Irving, 4000 N. Southport Avenue in Chicago. Sponsored in part by WDCB Jazz and Blues Radio, there will be a $10 suggested donation at the door and raffles throughout the evening, with continuous music from over 40 local jazz artists. SIP will donate 10% of the evening’s proceeds to the foundation.
“Jazz for Women – An Evening of Music and Fellowship” will benefit The Chicago Foundation for Women. Founded in 1984, this philanthropic organization is dedicated to increasing resources and opportunities for women and girls in the greater Chicago area. Chicago jazz singer Elaine Dame has been named a "gem" in the city's vocal scene with a voice "like clarified honey." “I have a goal to host a musical benefit yearly and CFW is an organization that is doing great work for women and girls” says Dame. “This is my opportunity to give back and I hope the community will join with me.”
