Put on by StarEvents, Summer on Southport will take place July 12-13, 2014!

Chicago’s iconic Southport Corridor springs to life this summer when Summer on Southport takes over
Waveland and Southport July 12-13. Featured in TimeOut Chicago as one of the “Best Festivals in Town,” the event will feature an eclectic mix of fine art by day and rockin’ music at night, setting the tone for a picture-perfect Chicago neighborhood street festival.

Festival fans will visit the beautiful tree-lined streets of the eccentric neighborhood. Just steps away from the friendly confines of Wrigley Field, the two-day festival will showcase some of the city’s best and most diverse artists. Summer on Southport will put various art forms including oil, acrylic, watercolor, jewelry, sculpture, photography, wood, fiber, glass, paper, metal, and mixed media at center stage all weekend long.

Families will get the opportunity to bring their children and enjoy all that Summer on Southport has to offer. A special children’s area will be designated and filled with interactive games and activities that will make for a memorable time. By night, Summer on Southport will add a special stage for music where some of the Windy City’s favorite bands will take over and play everyone’s favorite songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and today.

Summer on Southport benefits the Southport Neighbors Association. Since 1988, Southport Neighbors Association (SNA) has been representing the residents and businesses of the unique and vibrant neighborhood, in the heart of Lakeview. Admission is a $5 suggested donation.

Summer on Southport is produced and managed by StarEvents in partner with Amdur Productions.  For Thirty years, Amdur productions, a nationally acclaimed arts festival production company, has organized and directed many of the country’s most prestigious juried art festivals. Currently, seven of Amdur Productions festivals are rated in Sunshine Artist magazine’s
Top 100″ with six appearing in the “Top 50″
